A Good Week, My Sexy Voice, and a Tag

Tyler and I got to go to Dallas for Thanksgiving. My sister Kim and her husband Mason and their kids were there, Steven and Lacey and Carter were there and Whitney. It was fun getting to see them, my parents, and my parent's new house. It's a very nice house.

Friday I woke up with a soar throat and Saturday I woke up with a soar throat. As the days would go on, I would feel better and it went away. Saturday night rolled around and it wasn't going away. The last time I had a soar throat this bad, I had strep. I have only had that once. I have also had bronchitis. Both don't feel good. I can handle having colds, but not when it's so bad that you feel like you are swallowing knives...seriously, that's how bad it hurts. It took all I had to try and not swallow and I found myself even drooling last night. ;-) I woke up this morning ache, stuffed up and with a hoarse voice. I like to call if my sexy voice though. Like Phoebe on Friends, whenever she got sick with a cold, she would call it her sexy voice.

My sister Stephanie tagged anyone who was reading her blog. You have to post the 4th folder, 10th picture. This was cracks me up. It was in Colorado of '06 and I was posing with Tyler for a picture and Stephanie jumped in and gave him a hug (maybe it's because Tyler is her favorite brother-n-law)... ;-) The look on Ty's face and us both hugging him is funny I think.

I tag Jennie, Becky, Jodi and Erin.

Ready...Set....SHOP!!!

Did anyone take advantage of Black Friday? I got up with my mom, my sister Kim and Whitney and my niece Madison. We got up at 4:00 am...yes, my nine year old niece wanted to take part of the fun and go. I have to say I was impressed and thought it was kind of cute she wanted to go with the girls and she got up without hesitation.

We went to Walmart, which I may never go back again the day after Thanksgiving. What is it about Walmart? It was freakin insane!! We got what we needed and headed to Target. We waited outside in the rain for about 10 mintues....in a line that wrapped around the building. Next year, we will have to pack umbrellas incase of bad weather. Target was just as crowded as Walmart, but much more enjoyable and a lot calm. Target had it under control pretty well I thought. Then, we headed over to the mall to get some deals over there.

I am proud to say... I am done Christmas shopping. I have my parents done, Tyler's parents done, and Tyler is done. Oh yeah, and in my family, we draw names. I had my younger sister Whitney, and she is done.

Things I am Grateful For

I have been quick to put up Christmas decorations, change my blog to Christmas decor, and whatnot. But I can't completely by-pass Thanksgiving. I thought I would list the things I am grateful for.

I am thankful for the church first and foremost. What a blessing it is to have a later day Prophet who guides and directs us in these days. I am grateful for the church and what it teaches us and the truth that it holds.

I am grateful for my husband. He is my best friend and I just love him to pieces. I am glad I married someone who enjoys being married to me as much as I enjoy being married to him (at least I think so....).

I am grateful for family. I have ALWAYS been grateful my whole life for growing up in a great family. I have parents who taught us all well and raised us well. We have all turned out alright, so far. ;-) I am grateful for my siblings and all the crazy, funny times we had together. We had a lot of moments of laughter....laughing so hard it hurts!

I am grateful for the Country we live in. We are all so blessed to be living in a free country.

I am grateful for challenges in life that only make us stronger (which is all of them, right)? Not that I am perfect and know how to conquer each challenge, but I am grateful for the new things I learn about myself each time I am faced with a challenge...

I am grateful for many things, to be alive, to be healthy, apart of a loving family, and married to a wonderful person, and I am just grateful for the small and simple things in life also.

Opinion Needed

I put up my christmas tree (like two and a half weeks ago). I made my garland this year out of ripped fabric. I wanted to go for a rustic look and I found some rustic ornaments at Micheal's. I went with the stars, snowflakes, and bells.

I had fun decorating my mantel too! I am in the process of making stockings and I will post a pic of those when they are complete!

My question is do I need to make my garland longer so it wraps around more? I go back and forth. I have ornaments on it, so that helps break it up some. I am afraid if I did more garland and had all the ornaments it would take away from the ornaments.

And yes...I need a tree topper. Hopefully I can find a cute one on Black Friday!

The Big 24 Party

Like I mentioned earlier, we were in Houston this weekend. My sister Jennifer from Arkansas drove down with her kids. We all stayed at Steph's house. It was a lot of fun.

Saturday night we went to dinner to celebrate Ty's birthday (his birthday was really Sunday). We ate at Alecia's. Then we went back to the house for cake and ice cream and presents. The nieces and nephews enjoyed watching him open presents and handing them to him.

Happy Birthday Ty!

Happy Birthday Ty! I will post pics later, but we went to Houston this weekend and had a birthday bash for him Saturday night. My camera wasn't working, so I used my sister's camera. When she emails them to me, I will upload them.

I wanted to tell Ty he is the best and I love him so much. I have to brag about him and tell everyone how wonderful he is. I have learned so much from him and I couldn't ask for anyone better. I hope he has the best birthday and a great year to come!

Love you tons Ty!

Happy Birthday G to the Randma!!!

Happy Birthday Grandma! Love you to pieces. I wish I could be with my mom and be there to celebrate with you guys! I was going through a scrapbook my mom made me when I turned 12 and found a letter my mom had written to me to read on my 12th birthday. The letter stated that I was pretty much her favorite daughter (not really).. it did talk about though how when she brought me home from the hospital my Grandma Stevens bathed me and dressed me and helped take care of me. I have to admit it brought a few tears to my eyes (a lot actually). I am so glad for you and grateful you are my grandma and I am pretty sure you are crying reading this at this point but I love you tons! It stinks that family has to live so far from each other sometimes and move to places like Dallas, but I am so glad we all love each other enough to write, call, and care for one another. Thank you Grandma for teaching my mom so well...

Hugs and kisses!

Love, Michelle

Pumpkin Carving

Tonight we got together with some friends from the ward and carved pumpkins. It was so much fun and I got full off of hot chocolate. (I think I'm going to be sick now). Ty and I have made great friends in the ward and really enjoy our ward and have had a blast getting to know people!

Everyone did a great job, but Jodi's pumpkin I think won. I couldn't get a picture of it....it took off before I could snap a picture of it.

I'm so excited for Halloween!

Our Weekend Adventures

Our anniversary is tomorrow (the 28th), but we celebrated on Saturday since Ty has school tomorrow.

I really wanted to just spend the day with him, I didn't care what we did. The first thing we did was go to Ikea, we were in search for shelves and a desk.

After that we had couples' massage. It was so fun. Ty had booked it and it was kind of a surprise to me. The massages last an hour and I think I was passed out after the first 5 minutes. It felt so good and it was so relaxing!

Then, we went to PF Changs and enjoyed a nice dinner together.

We got home and put together the desk and shelves we bought. I'm a dork and didn't take a picture of us together on Saturday, but here's a picture of the desk and shelves at least.... I don't like the black chair with the desk, but it works for now.
